Odi Vidya Foot-Targeting Prayoga

(Traditional Belief From Kerala Tantra)

In a previous post, we discussed Odi Vidya, a form of Tantric knowledge native to Kerala, and one commonly mentioned prayoga associated with it.

In this post, we explain another widely spoken Odi practice, which according to tantric belief, is most commonly performed externally and is said to target the feet and lower limbs of a person.

What Is This Prayoga?

According to Kerala Tantric tradition, this specific Odi prayoga is designed to affect a person through physical contact with the ground, particularly when the individual unknowingly walks over an energized object.

This prayoga is believed to focus on:

  • The feet
  • The legs
  • The lower energetic channels of the body

How This Prayoga Is Traditionally Believed to Be Done

Traditional texts and oral accounts describe the following method:

  • Use of specific bird's blood, which is dried and powdered
  • The powder is believed to be infused with mantras
  • In some cases, yantras are also prepared for the same purpose
  • Either the powder or the yantra is:
    • Placed on the path, or
    • Buried in the area where the target is expected to walk

Once the person unknowingly walks over this spot, the prayoga is believed to activate.
